The Italian Democratic Party

The Italian Democratic party (PD) had decided, by the words of his leader, Walter alias Uolter Veltroni, that for any major charge in the party, the latter should have been decided through Primaries. This was supposed to be in its bylaws. Now this has been put on hold, because of the internal contrasts inside the PD against the lines of Veltroni. In fact, the major charges of the Lazio PD and the Rome PD has been decided the former belonging to Veltroni's area the latter to Rutelli's one. I strongly oppose this, since this is against all the intentions with which this party was born and would make it fall in the same old concept of party bureaucracy.

Damn, if I only knew that...

Do you want to get married ? you don't have a place where to celebrate the event ? Problem solved, the Department of Medicine of the Universita' La Sapienza in Rome, makes available to (almost) everybody the Aula Magna in the Patology division.
Look at Prof Luigi Frati, already Dean of the Department of Medicine, for over 17 yrs, and now Dean of the all University, celebrating his daughter's wedding in the Aula Magna... then you wonder why things don't work in Italy !

UPDATE: it seems they took off the video !

S. Peter !

In all this economical chaos, the words of Pope Ratzinger resonate to me stunning and opportunistic in a very wicked way.. It has been a long while since this Pope has decided that we need to take a few steps back. The problem is that there is no step forward.

Chi se lo ricorda il mitico Mario Braga..

how much does your house cost ?

Being abroad, I got to the Second US Presidential debate a little late. I went on youtube to hear the most unbelievable proposal from any sane person... According to some out of this world runner for any country, moreover for the US, McCain tells people that for those who can't keep up with mortgages, the US would buy their house... a little search on the web (repubblica.it) and this would cost something like 300 billion dollars. Forgot to mention, these are tax payers money. Dude, please, give me back the money you already spent for the banks and, maybe, you will find somebody who will agree with you ! Then, Congress may agree to save the Banks, but it will never do the same for normal people. It is just worth mentioning, that to save children in Africa from starvation and diseases, 25 billions would be enough.

Trip to Romania

The new job has some positive aspects. Now I am in Romania, exactly in Cluj, Transilvania. No, guys, I have not seen Dracula, please do not ask me about it. As a good italian, filled up of prejudices from the stunning and professional informative media, I arrived thinking that there was nothing interesting and expecting criminals and poverty everywhere. Well, guys, I must tell you, I find this place quite nice. People are very kind, nice stores, nice pubs and clubs. With an economic growth of about 10%, this country will reach Italy in a couple of years, maybe more, but you get the message.
